Marketing and Communications Coordinator- Northeast Ohio

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO) is searching for a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to be a key member of our Advancement Team. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for increasing community awareness, strengthening brand visibility, and supporting organizational storytelling efforts across multiple communication platforms. This role manages social media activity, media relationships, content creation, and communication initiatives that promote the organization’s mission, programs, events and impact.

The position is full-time, working remotely within the Northeast Ohio region served by BGCNEO. The salary range for this position is $ 48,000- $ 54,000 annually commensurate with experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support strategic communication efforts that increase public awareness, name recognition, community engagement, and donor understanding of the mission and impact
  • Support campaigns and initiatives that strengthen community engagement and donor awareness
  • Support the development and maintenance relationships with local media outlets, including traditional and non-traditional media sources
  • Assist with media outreach, press releases, media advisories, and public announcements
  • Coordinate media coverage opportunities for organizational events and initiatives
  • Manage and maintain the organization’s social media accounts and content calendar
  • Develop engaging digital content that aligns with the organization’s mission and branding
  • Monitor engagement metrics and recommend strategies to increase reach and audience engagement
  • Assist with website updates and electronic communications as assigned
  • Collect stories, testimonials, photos, and videos from members, families, volunteers, and staff for publication and promotional purposes
  • Create written and visual content for newsletters, social media, annual reports, donor communications, and marketing materials
  • Support communication and promotion for fundraising events, community events, Club activities, volunteer activities, and donor engagement opportunities
  • Collaborate with fundraising, program, and leadership teams, to support organizational communication priorities
  • Ensure messaging consistency across departments and communication platforms

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, media relations, or digital content creation preferred
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing social media platforms for an organization or brand
  • Basic graphic design, photography, or video editing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and content management tools preferred
  • Excellent judgment and professionalism in representing the organization publicly
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and communications channels simultaneously
  • Ability to travel locally to work sites, events, and community activities as needed
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability required for events and community engagement activites
  • Final candidates must clear a background check and drug test.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be working remote. However, this key role will require attending meetings with the BGCNEO team and other related agencies as needed. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be expected to appear in-person when required.
