Food Service Crew/Delivery Driver- Cleveland, Ohio

Are you interested in Making a Difference in the Lives of Local Youth? Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO) has an immediate opening to join our Food Service Crew in Cleveland, OH. This position will work out of our Broadway Club in Cleveland, Ohio.

The ideal candidate will be a friendly, helpful individual responsible for assisting as needed with daily preparation/production, taking inventory of stock, service of quality meals, and data management in compliance with the BGCNEO mission and vision, Nutrition programs, USDA, local and state regulations. The Food Service Crew will receive supervision and guidance from the Kitchen Manager and Compliance Manager.

  • Position is Full-time, Monday-Friday.
  • Work schedule is 30 hours per week, generally between 11:00 am - 5:30 pm. (Summer hours 8am-2pm)
  • Starting pay range is $ 18 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload food trucks and deliver in a safe and efficient manner
  • Pull, organize, and stage food orders for distribution or preparation according to kitchen needs and delivery schedules
  • Verify accuracy of food items against orders forms and report discrepancies
  • Assist in basic food preparation such as washing, portioning, and packaging ingredients; meal components and temping when appropriate
  • Set up and break down food preparation stations in compliance with kitchen standards
  • Handle food items following ServSafe guidelines and company policies
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized countertops, work areas, equipment, and delivery bins
  • Follow established cleaning schedules for kitchen tools, appliances, and storage areas
  • Comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling and personal hygiene practices
  • Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damaged equipment to supervisors immediately
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude when interacting with coworkers and Club members

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in food services, catering, warehouse, or related environments
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, proper lifting techniques, and safe equipment handling
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills & ability to follow written & verbal instructions
  • Effective communication skills with ability to work as part of a team
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to excellent attendance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred
  • Must pass a Background and Drug screening check.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • A valid driver’s license- the individual must be capable of driving/delivering meals to Clubs.
  • Job requires frequently standing, walking, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling.
  • Individual must be able to lift heavy objects (25-50lbs) as needed. Additional physical requirements include reaching and handling objects with hands (picking, pinching, seizing, holding, grasping, turning), as well as perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching.
