Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO) is searching for a Manager of Board & Community Engagement to be a key member of our Resource Development team. The Manager of Board & Community Engagement is responsible for supporting the engagement of board members and strengthening community partnerships to advance the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO). This role works closely with the Manager of Volunteer Engagement and the Programs team to ensure alignment between board engagement, community partnerships, volunteer recruitment, and programmatic needs.

Additionally, the Manager of Board & Community Engagement will coordinate board communication, assist with fundraising efforts, develop community relationships, and implement outreach initiatives that increase organizational visibility and support.

The position is full-time, working remotely within the Northeast Ohio region. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually. The position reports to and receives direction from BGCNEO’s Director of Development Operations, executing assigned tasks to achieve organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Board Engagement & Support

  • Serve as a key point of contact for regional board and young professional board members, ensuring they receive timely updates and support.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating board meetings, retreats, and engagement events.
  • Support board member onboarding and training efforts in collaboration with leadership.
  • Provide leadership and logistical support for board-led initiatives, including fundraising and volunteer engagement.
  • Work with the Manager of Volunteer Engagement to connect board members with volunteer opportunities that align with their interests and expertise.
  • Collaborate with the Programs team to ensure board-led initiatives align with club programming needs.

Fundraising & Event Coordination

  • Provide planning, logistical, and strategic leadership and support in executing board-led fundraising events – in collaboration with the Corporate Relations & Events, and Individual Giving teams.
  • Ensure board members have the necessary resources and guidance to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Serve as point of contact for third-party fundraising events, ensuring brand alignment and support – in collaboration with the Marketing and Corporate Relations teams.
  • Support donor stewardship efforts related to board-led fundraising activities.
  • Work with the Manager of Volunteer Engagement to ensure fundraising events include appropriate volunteer support.

Community Engagement & Partnership Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, donors, and volunteers to enhance BGCNEO’s reach.
  • Coordinate in-kind support efforts, including supply drives and partnership opportunities, ensuring alignment with the Manager of Volunteer Engagement for volunteer participation.
  • Support volunteer engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with board and organizational goals.
  • Assist in organizing BGCNEO participation in key community events to promote awareness and recruit volunteers, donors and board members.
  • Work with the Programs team to identify and develop partnerships that enhance club experiences for members.
  • Help develop and implement strategies to engage alumni and maintain connection post-graduation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in board relations, fundraising, community engagement, or nonprofit operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating events and supporting fundraising efforts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively with teams.
  • Familiarity with donor/volunteer databases and community engagement tools is a plus.
  • Final candidates must clear a background check and drug test.
